Keller Boothby led the charge for William & Mary with a standout performance, contributing 19 points as the Tribe secured a 78-65 victory over Elon on Thursday evening.
Boothby had an impressive shooting night, connecting on 8 of 12 attempts from the field, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc. Chase Lowe also made significant contributions, scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds. Gabe Dorsey added to the team’s efforts with 11 points, shooting 3 of 9 overall and making 3 of 4 free throws, while also securing six boards.
On the opposing side, the Phoenix were spearheaded by Sam Sherry, who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. TJ Simpkins provided solid support, contributing 13 points, alongside seven rebounds and four assists. Nick Dorn rounded out the scoring for Elon with 12 points.
In the first half, Lowe managed to score seven points, helping William & Mary to stay competitive as they entered the break narrowly behind at 31-30. However, in the second half, they surged ahead with a 10-2 run that allowed them to establish a 78-63 lead, ultimately sealing their victory.
