NEW YORK — A performance coach who was unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight has landed a significant book deal. The coach, Jim Murphy, saw his self-published work “Inner Excellence” gain popularity after NFL wide receiver A.J. Brown was seen with the book. Now, his efforts are being formally recognized by Grand Central Publishing Group, which announced the acquisition of Murphy’s books on Thursday.

Grand Central plans to re-release “Inner Excellence,” a book that unexpectedly became a bestseller. The new edition is set to debut in the spring, while Murphy’s latest work, “The Best Possible Life,” is scheduled for release on September 30. The publisher also intends to create a workbook to accompany “Inner Excellence,” providing an interactive approach for readers.

Murphy expressed his gratitude for the widespread support and impact his book has had across the globe. In a statement, he said: “I’m incredibly grateful for the overwhelming response to ‘Inner Excellence’ and for the impact it’s had on so many lives around the world.” His mission, he emphasized, is to aid individuals in reaching their utmost potential not only in their endeavors but in life as a whole.

A.J. Brown, a star player for the Philadelphia Eagles, exemplified the powerful influence of Murphy’s teachings. The wide receiver was observed perusing “Inner Excellence” on the sidelines during an intense playoff match against the Green Bay Packers earlier this year. This moment of visibility helped propel the book to the top of Amazon’s bestseller list.

Brown has openly praised Murphy for his role in enhancing his mental game, noting that for him, football is “90% mental and 10% physical.” The athlete further demonstrated his appreciation by sharing a picture of the book on social media, showcasing various passages he marked in yellow.
