HAMILTON, N.Y. — Jalen Cox propelled Colgate to a commanding victory over Army, finishing with 20 points in their 84-55 triumph on Thursday during the Patriot League Tournament.
Cox contributed significantly to the Raiders’ success, adding five rebounds and six assists to his stellar performance. Chandler Baker chipped in with 13 points, shooting 6-of-9 from the field, including 1-of-4 from beyond the arc. Teammate Nicolas Louis-Jacques was also in shooting form, tallying 12 points and making four out of eight attempts from three-point range.
For the Army Black Knights, Jalen Rucker was the top scorer, amassing 22 points in an otherwise challenging game. Ryan Curry supported the effort with an additional 10 points, but it was not enough to close the gap against a dominant Colgate side.
Colgate secured an early lead just over a minute and a half into the first half and maintained this advantage throughout the game. By halftime, the Raiders had established a comfortable 46-23 lead, largely thanks to the impressive scoring run by Louis-Jacques who had 12 first-half points. In the second half, Colgate further stretched their lead, launching a 7-0 run that increased their 23-point advantage to 30 points, with Cox contributing 13 points in this period.
