PHILADELPHIA — Mark Scheifele was instrumental in the Winnipeg Jets’ victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, scoring a goal and assisting on two others in a 4-1 win on Thursday night. Kyle Connor also had a significant presence with a goal and an assist, helping the Jets break their three-game losing streak.

Nikolaj Ehlers and Adam Lowry added to the scoreline, contributing to Winnipeg’s accomplishment of becoming the first NHL team to surpass the 90-point mark this season. Eric Comrie stood strong in goal, recording 21 saves.

For the Flyers, Matvei Michkov was the sole scorer during their third loss in four games. The scoring began with Scheifele’s power-play goal, a backhand shot at 8:32 of the first period. Scheifele also set up the next two goals for the Jets.

Kyle Connor, who is now tied for third place in NHL scoring, scored a pivotal goal just over five minutes into the second period. Gabriel Vilardi also played a crucial role, assisting on three goals.

The Jets’ power play, ranked best in the NHL, was effective once again, capitalizing on both opportunities. With 55 goals achieved this season when having a man advantage, their power play is converting at an impressive rate of 32%.

In contrast, the Flyers are seeing a dry spell from their leading scorer, Travis Konecny, who has not scored in six games and only has two goals in the last 22 matches.

Connor’s goal early in the second period was a key moment, extending the Jets’ lead to 3-0 with a precise shot from the right boards that slipped past Sam Ersson.

Matvei Michkov reached a milestone by becoming the first NHL rookie this season to score 20 goals, finding the net with just under three minutes left to play.

The Jets will continue their road trip with a game in New Jersey on Friday, while the Flyers are set to face Seattle at home on Saturday during their ongoing seven-game homestand.
