An insider perspective on Facebook and its successor company Meta, promising to reveal explosive details about the company’s operations, will soon hit the shelves. The book, titled “Careless People,” has been announced for release next Tuesday by Flatiron Books. The memoir, penned by Sarah Wynn-Williams, who served as the director of global public policy at Meta, chronicles her experiences during her tenure there, which ended in 2018.

“Careless People” offers readers a unique glimpse into the inner workings of Meta, including its boardrooms, private jet travel, and significant meetings with global leaders, as per the publisher’s announcement. The narrative sheds light on the appetites, excesses, and priorities of key figures such as Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg, and Joel Kaplan. It portrays them as deeply flawed and self-serving, with a disregard for the impact their pursuit of wealth has on others.

In the memoir, Wynn-Williams is set to disclose details about Zuckerberg’s attempts to expand Meta’s presence in China and her initiatives to compel the company to regulate hate speech and misinformation on its platform. Additionally, she will highlight experiences ranging from alarming incidents of workplace harassment and misogyny to the rigorous challenges and personal sacrifices of being a working mother during an era when Sheryl Sandberg was lauded internationally for her message encouraging women to ‘Lean In.’
