RIVERDALE, N.Y. — In an impressive display, Masiah Gilyard led the Manhattan Jaspers to a resounding 90-74 victory over the Sacred Heart Pioneers on Thursday. Gilyard was a standout performer for the Jaspers, scoring 21 points and claiming 11 rebounds, showcasing both offensive skill and defensive tenacity.
Jaden Winston was another key player for Manhattan, contributing 17 points with remarkable shooting accuracy, going 7 for 8 and hitting 3 of 4 from beyond the arc. Winston also facilitated the team’s offense effectively with six assists. Fraser Roxburgh provided additional support, scoring 14 points while making 5 of 6 attempts from the field, with success in three-point shots as well, hitting 3 out of 4.
The Sacred Heart Pioneers were led by Amiri Stewart, who managed to score 20 points, pushing the Pioneers to put up a strong fight. Bryce Johnson added to the effort with 18 points, along with six rebounds and two steals, showcasing his all-around capabilities on the court. Tanner Thomas chipped in with 12 points and made significant contributions on the boards by grabbing eight rebounds.
