FRESNO, Calif. — Jalen Weaver played a pivotal role in leading Fresno State to a 73-65 victory against San Diego on Saturday evening.
Weaver scored a total of 19 points, shooting 7 for 14 overall, including a challenging 1 for 5 from beyond the arc, while also going perfect from the free-throw line, making all four attempts.
This win marked a significant turnaround for the Bulldogs (4-7), who had been on a challenging five-game losing streak. Alongside Weaver, Alex Crawford contributed 18 points, and Elijah Price chipped in with 10 points.

For the Toreros (3-8), Kjay Bradley Jr. had a solid performance with 17 points, complemented by seven rebounds and five assists. Colby Brooks also added 10 points to the scoreboard, while Steven Jamerson II rounded out the contributions with nine points and an impactful 13 rebounds.

Weaver’s notable performance included 11 points in the first half, although Fresno State found themselves trailing at halftime with a score of 37-32. The turning point came in the second half, when a vigorous 14-2 run by the Bulldogs erased their five-point deficit, allowing them to take a 60-53 lead with just 8:15 left on the clock.
