    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Marquel Sutton delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 28 points to lead Omaha to a 70-61 victory against Kansas City in the Summit League Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday.

    Sutton’s contribution was substantial, with 11 rebounds and four steals propelling the Mavericks to a 20-12 season. His teammates also provided strong support during the game. JJ White contributed 14 points, successfully hitting 4 of 11 shots from the field, 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, and perfecting his performance at the foul line with 4 for 4. Additionally, White gathered five rebounds and distributed seven assists. Isaac Ondekane chipped in with 10 points, connecting on 4 of 7 field attempts and 2 out of 4 free throws.

    For Kansas City, Jamar Brown was the standout player, scoring 27 points. Jayson Petty also made a notable impact, contributing 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

    Omaha dominated from the onset, taking the lead just 17 seconds into the match with 19:43 remaining in the first half, maintaining control throughout the game.
