FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Raegan Beers delivered another exceptional performance, scoring 30 points for the second consecutive game, as the No. 16 Oklahoma Sooners extended their winning streak to five with an impressive 94-54 victory over Arkansas on Sunday.
Beers had previously achieved a career milestone of 30 points just three days earlier in a 101-81 triumph against Vanderbilt. Her achievement makes her the first player from Oklahoma to score 30 points in back-to-back games since Courtney Paris did so in 2007 during her sophomore year. Against Arkansas, Beers demonstrated remarkable efficiency, hitting 12 of her 14 shot attempts, which included a career-best three 3-pointers without a miss, along with contributing seven rebounds.
Sahara Williams added 15 points and six rebounds for the Sooners, while Skylar Vann contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Payton Verhulst also reached double figures with 12 points, complementing her game with four assists and three steals.
On the other side, Izzy Higginbottom, who ranks fifth nationally with an average of 23.6 points per game, netted 22 points on 8-of-21 shooting for the Razorbacks (9-20, 2-12), marking their sixth consecutive defeat and tenth loss in the last eleven games.
The game started with Beers scoring nine points and Vann adding eight, leading Oklahoma to a 23-15 advantage after the first quarter. Higginbottom was the standout scorer for Arkansas during this period, making three of the team’s four baskets and totaling nine points.
In the second quarter, Higginbottom attempted to energize the Razorbacks by hitting consecutive shots to close the gap to 25-21, but Verhulst swiftly responded with a 3-pointer that helped the Sooners go on a 7-0 run, pushing their lead back into double digits with 5:50 remaining in the half. In the closing minute, Jenna Lawrence sank a 3-pointer, allowing Arkansas to narrow the score to 40-32 at halftime.
Oklahoma showcased their dominance in the third quarter, with Beers scoring 10 points during a decisive 17-3 run, extending the lead to 72-48. The Sooners capped the game with a finishing surge, outscoring the Razorbacks 54-22 in the second half.
Looking ahead, Oklahoma will face Florida on Thursday, while Arkansas prepares to host Missouri on the same day.
