NATCHITOCHES, La. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Micah Thomas led Northwestern State to a 75-67 victory over East Texas A&M, scoring an impressive 25 points.
Thomas was highly efficient, making 6 of his 10 attempts from the field, including 5 out of 8 from beyond the arc, and also converting 8 of 9 free throws. His performance helped the Demons improve their record to 8-8 overall and 4-1 in the Southland Conference.
Alongside Thomas, Jon Sanders contributed significantly with 12 points, hitting 3 of 7 shots, which included 2 for 4 from three-point territory. He also made a clean sweep at the free-throw line, going 4 for 4. Addison Patterson added 11 points, managing to secure 5 field goals out of 13 attempts.
For the Lions, Scooter Williams Jr. was the standout player, scoring 18 points while also pulling down six rebounds and tallying two steals. Demarco Bethea and Chris Adlam each added to the Lions’ efforts with 10 points apiece, while Bethea also contributed seven rebounds to the team’s total.
Both teams are gearing up for their next contests on Monday. Northwestern State will be traveling to face Texas A&M-CC, while East Texas A&M will take on UT Rio Grande Valley on their home turf.
