TikTok User Claims Blake Lively Pulled Her Into Legal Battle

Nikki Lieberman, a Jewish TikTok user, says actress Blake Lively caused a “wave of hate” against her. Lieberman, who goes by “ThickJewishGirl” online, claims people sent her anti-Semitic messages and false accusations. She also says the backlash affected her career. The controversy started when the TikTok user criticized Lively for staying silent about domestic violence while promoting her movie It Ends With Us. Lieberman felt Lively’s co-star, Justin Baldoni, spoke more openly about the issue. The TikTok user posted a video expressing her disappointment in August.

In December, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and defamation. The lawsuit also mentioned Lieberman’s TikTok video. According to Lively’s legal team, Baldoni’s company shared the video within the production team. They suggested it was part of an effort to harm Lively’s reputation. Lieberman was shocked to see the TikTok user’s video included in the case. Soon after, online attacks against her increased. Many social media users accused her of working with Baldoni to damage Lively’s image. Others sent her hateful messages, including anti-Semitic slurs and conspiracy theories.

Online Attacks Included Anti-Semitic Hate Speech

Lieberman says the TikTok user received thousands of hateful messages. Some people accused her of being part of a Jewish conspiracy against Lively. Others referenced the Holocaust and made violent threats. She deleted many of these comments but kept screenshots of some. One commenter wrote, “You’ll eat your words when they find him guilty.” Another accused her of breaking an NDA for “typical Jewish behavior.” She described the experience as a “wave of hate crashing down” on her. The attacks not only affected her emotionally but also hurt her career.

The Controversy Affected Her Job Search and Career

Lieberman lost her job in tech sales in October for unrelated reasons. However, when the TikTok user applied for new positions, some employers rejected her because of the controversy. She reached out to two companies after being denied, and both told her they had Googled her. They said they did not want to hire someone involved in public drama. Lieberman believes this backlash made it harder for her to find work. Despite these setbacks, she has since secured a new job and is trying to move forward.

Inspired by Baldoni’s Discussion on Domestic Violence

Lieberman attended a screening of It Ends With Us in August, where Baldoni spoke about domestic violence. He explained how he prepared for his role as an abusive husband. He spent time with survivors, perpetrators, and mental health experts to portray the issue accurately. Lieberman was deeply moved by his commitment. After the event, she posted a video praising the film and Baldoni’s efforts. However, she also pointed out that Lively, despite her large audience, had not spoken much about the issue. This single video led to months of online harassment and backlash for the TikTok user.

TikTok Was a Personal Outlet Before the Controversy

Before this incident, the TikTok user used TikTok to share personal experiences. She often spoke about her struggles, including being bullied in high school and feeling lost in her twenties. She never expected her opinion on It Ends With Us to cause such a reaction. Her video was not part of a larger agenda or campaign. It was simply her personal view. Still, some Lively fans saw it as an attack and targeted her with hateful messages. The experience has been overwhelming, but she remains determined to move past it.

Using Her Platform to Support Women and Empower Others

Despite the hate, the TikTok user’s following has grown significantly. She now hopes to use her platform for something positive. She wants to support women and encourage discussions on important issues. “It’s given me the opportunity to create a community of women who empower each other,” she said. She believes that instead of trying to tear her down, her critics have only made her voice stronger. She wants to use her experience to inspire others and turn negativity into something meaningful.

Standing Strong Against Online Attacks and Moving Forward

Lieberman says the TikTok user was underestimated. Many people thought she would stay silent after the backlash. But she refuses to back down. “I think they thought I was just a small figure in Chicago who wouldn’t stand up for herself. But here I am.” She remains firm in her beliefs and continues to share her thoughts. She hopes her story will encourage others to stand strong in the face of online hate and unfair treatment.
