HENDERSON, Nev. — In a significant move for the Las Vegas Raiders, Kolton Miller, recognized as one of the premier left tackles in the NFL, has committed to a three-year, $66 million contract extension. This deal includes $42.5 million in guaranteed money, according to a source with knowledge of the agreement. The specifics of the contract have not been officially disclosed, but the extension was confirmed by the Raiders.
Drafted as the 15th overall pick in 2018 from UCLA, Miller has consistently proven his value on the field. In the previous season, he showcased his abilities by starting every game and achieving a remarkable record. He allowed quarterback pressures on only 9.8% of passing plays, ranking him ninth best among tackles who played a minimum of 600 snaps. Furthermore, since beginning his professional career, he has incurred penalties on a mere 2.8% of all his snaps, ranking second lowest among all tackles during that period.
As training camp approached, Miller was facing the final year of his existing contract. Despite this, he chose a positive approach by attending practices, rejecting the notion of holding out. His commitment to the team is clear from his statements during the minicamp last month: “I want to be a Raider for life,” he expressed. “I love it here. I don’t want to go anywhere else. I only know one way to do it, and that’s showing up and getting better each day.”
The Raiders are clearly investing in maintaining a strong offensive line, and Miller’s extension is a testament to his invaluable contribution and dedication to the team.
