MACOMB, Ill. — In a compelling matchup on Thursday night, Johnathan Lawson shone brightly for Little Rock, leading his team to a 62-51 victory over Western Illinois with an impressive 25-point performance.

Lawson displayed his shooting prowess, making 9 of his 19 attempts from the field, which included an impressive 4 out of 7 from beyond the arc. Additionally, he was perfect from the free-throw line, converting all three of his attempts. This victory improved the Trojans’ season record to 12 wins and 7 losses, with a conference record of 6-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Beyond Lawson, Ante Beljan contributed significantly with 12 points and six rebounds, while Isaiah Lewis added eight points, although he finished with a shooting performance of 4 for 13.

On the other side, Sean Smith was the standout for the Leathernecks, scoring 16 points and securing seven rebounds.
