STANFORD, Calif. — Oziyah Sellers was instrumental in Stanford’s victory over Florida State, contributing a career-high of 27 points by making 4 of his 6 attempts from beyond the arc and shooting 10 of 16 overall. The final score of the game was 78-71, played on Saturday night.

Benny Gealer and Jaylen Blakes each chipped in with 13 points for Stanford, which improved to 14-6 overall and 6-3 in the ACC. Notably, Maxime Raynaud, who ranked fifth in the nation for scoring with an average of 21.1 points per game and third in rebounding at 11.6, managed to grab 14 rebounds despite scoring only eight points on 4 of 11 shooting.

Sellers got the scoreboard rolling with a 3-pointer about six and a half minutes into the first half, which allowed Stanford to take and maintain the lead for the rest of the game. Following his initial basket, he showcased his athleticism with two consecutive dunks, leading to a score of 18-10 after Raynaud’s score in the lane with just under ten minutes remaining until the halftime break. Florida State’s Daquan Davis cut the deficit with a dunk, but Gealer quickly responded with a 3-pointer. Sellers then added two more 3s to punctuate an 11-3 scoring run, allowing Stanford to grab a 10-point lead, finishing the first half at 33-25.

In the second half, the Seminoles struggled to catch up, having fallen behind by at least seven points. Their shooting woes continued, as they made only 32% (8 of 25) of their shots from the field and managed just one 3-pointer from seven attempts in the first half.

Florida State’s Jamir Watkins led his team with 20 points, while Malique Ewin contributed 16 points, and Davis added 14. However, the Seminoles have struggled on the road this season, holding a disappointing record of 1-5 in true away games.

Next, Florida State returns home to take on Virginia Tech on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Stanford will also be in action that same day against Syracuse, wrapping up a three-game homestand.
