SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Drake University overcame Missouri State with a final score of 69-62, thanks in large part to Bennett Stirtz, who contributed 18 points and six crucial points in overtime.
Stirtz’s defensive efforts were notable as he also recorded four steals for the Bulldogs, who now stand at 18 wins and 2 losses overall, and 8 wins against 2 losses in the Missouri Valley Conference. Mitch Mascari supported the team’s efforts with 13 points and five rebounds, helping secure their sixth consecutive victory.
The Bears fought hard but ultimately fell short, with Michael Osei-Bonsu leading their efforts with an impressive 24 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks. Vincent Brady II also made a significant contribution, scoring 14 points and dishing out four assists.
