STONY BROOK, N.Y. — In an impressive display of skill, Colby Duggan scored 27 points, leading Campbell to a dominant 79-54 victory over Stony Brook on Thursday night.
Duggan showcased his shooting prowess by hitting 11 of 14 shots from the field, including 5 out of 7 from beyond the arc, for the Fighting Camels, who improved to a record of 9-11 overall and 4-3 in the Coastal Athletic Association. Alongside Duggan, Caleb Zurliene contributed 13 points from an efficient 6 of 9 shooting, contributing three steals as well. Elijah Walsh rounded out the scoring for Campbell with 10 points, making 4 of 7 attempts from the field, although he struggled from three-point range, hitting just 1 of 4.
For the Seawolves, who now find themselves on an eight-game losing streak and hold a dismal record of 4-16 overall and 0-7 in their conference, Andre Snoddy was the top scorer with 11 points and recorded two steals. Ben Wight added a notable performance with 10 points and seven rebounds to support the effort.
The game was determined by halftime, with Campbell leading decisively at 41-19, aided by Duggan’s strong first-half showing, where he accounted for 16 of those points. The second half saw Zurliene stepping up to lead the team with 11 points in the final period.
Both teams are set to play again on Saturday, with Campbell traveling to face Hofstra, while Stony Brook will host North Carolina A&T in a bid to break their losing streak.
