MILAN — Kyle Walker, the captain of Manchester City, arrived in Italy on Thursday to undergo a medical examination with AC Milan, signaling an anticipated transfer.
The 34-year-old player has been a crucial component of City’s defense since his arrival in 2017, known for his remarkable pace and ability to recover quickly on the field. However, he expressed a desire to seek a move abroad to manager Pep Guardiola earlier this month, which led to his decision to explore options outside of Manchester.
Despite being a reliable figure in City’s lineup, Walker’s performance had declined significantly due to personal issues, resulting in a loss of his starting position within the team.
If the transfer goes through, he will reunite with fellow Englishmen Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham at Milan. Currently, Davide Calabria holds the right back position for the Italian club.
During his tenure at Manchester City, Walker has amassed an impressive collection of awards, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy. Since joining from Tottenham Hotspur, he has won a total of 15 major accolades, solidifying his reputation as one of the finest right backs in the history of the Premier League.
