FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs took part in his first offseason practice following the emergence of a controversial video on social media. The footage showcased Diggs exchanging what appeared to be a bag of pink crystals with women aboard a boat.

Diggs made an appearance at the voluntary practice session on Monday, exactly six days after the video surfaced online. It depicted him in conversation with three women before presenting them with the mysterious substance. The nature of the substance remains undisclosed. An NFL spokesperson declined to comment on the incident, while Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel emphasized that the team plans to address the situation internally.

The 31-year-old player has been spotted frequently in recent months at events with renowned hip-hop artist Cardi B, including high-profile occasions such as the Met Gala and a Boston Celtics-New York Knicks playoff game.

The New England Patriots are scheduled to conduct two more optional workouts on Tuesday and Thursday as a part of the organized team activity period. Both of these sessions are closed to the media, but they serve as a precursor to the team’s mandatory three-day minicamp, which commences on June 9.

After signing with the Patriots in the current offseason, Diggs secured a lucrative three-year contract valued at $69 million, with $26 million being completely guaranteed. The wide receiver, recognized for his dynamic play, has achieved six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills. His journey from Buffalo to Houston last spring accompanied a major trade, further cementing his status as an elite player in the league.
