In West Sacramento, California, the Athletics have reshuffled their line-up due to injuries. On Monday, they moved third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar and right-handed pitcher Gunnar Hoglund to the injured list. In response, outfielder JJ Bleday and right-handed pitcher Elvis Alvarado have been called up from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Prior to his injury, Andujar was performing well, maintaining a .296 batting average with three home runs and 20 RBIs. However, due to a strained right oblique, he was added to the 10-day injured list. Meanwhile, Hoglund is dealing with a left hip impingement and has been put on the 15-day injured list, effective from Sunday. Before his injury, Hoglund had a record of 1-3 with a 6.40 ERA over six starts.

JJ Bleday, who began the season on the A’s opening day roster, was hitting .204 with six home runs and 18 RBIs in 47 games before being sent to Las Vegas on May 23. During his time with the Aviators, Bleday managed to hit 10 for 27, including a home run and six RBIs over six games.

Elvis Alvarado is making his second stint with the A’s this year. During his first call-up on May 9, he allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over 2 2/3 innings, making two appearances. In Triple-A with the Aviators, Alvarado has recorded a 1-1 record with six saves and a 4.57 ERA.
