HOUSTON — Kellen Amos made significant contributions to Rice’s victory over Charlotte, scoring 12 points in the game, which concluded with a score of 68-55 on Saturday.

Amos also recorded five rebounds for the Owls, who now have an impressive record of 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the American Athletic Conference. Alongside him, Trae Broadnax added 10 points, showing efficiency with a shooting performance of 3 for 6 from the field and 4 for 5 from the free-throw line, along with seven rebounds. Jimmy Oladokun Jr. chipped in with eight points and a notable nine rebounds, while Andrew Akuchie contributed with eight points as well.

On the opposing side, Nik Graves stood out for the 49ers, finishing as the game’s leading scorer with 23 points and adding 11 rebounds to his tally. The 49ers now hold a record of 7-8 and are still seeking their first win in the conference, currently sitting at 0-2.
