LYNCHBURG, Va. — In a recent matchup, Taelon Peter made a significant impact coming off the bench, contributing 14 points to help the Liberty Flames secure a 58-45 victory over the Florida International Panthers on Saturday.
Peter also added six rebounds to the Flames’ efforts, showcasing his versatility and importance to the team’s performance. Kaden Metheny chipped in with 12 points, demonstrating his scoring ability by making 4 of 10 attempts, including a strong 4 of 8 from three-point range. In addition, Jay Maughmer contributed 11 points, shooting 5 of 11 from the field, although he struggled from beyond the arc, making just 1 of his 5 attempts.
On the other side, the Panthers were led by Jayden Brewer, who managed to record a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Vianney Salatchoum also scored 10 points, but it wasn’t enough to tip the scales in favor of Florida International.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to return to action on Thursday. Liberty will play host to Jacksonville State, while Florida International is preparing to take on Kennesaw State at their home venue.
