ITTA BENA, Miss. — In a decisive match on Monday night, the Texas Southern Tigers triumphed over the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils with a score of 82-53, thanks in large part to the standout performance of Kavion McClain, who scored 14 points.
McClain’s contributions did not end with his scoring; he showcased his defensive skills as well, recording five steals in the game. The Tigers improved their record to 5-11 overall and 2-1 within the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Other notable performances for Texas Southern included Kenny Hunter, who registered 13 points along with nine rebounds. Kehlin Farooq also made a significant impact, contributing 12 points and three steals to the team’s success.
On the opposing side, the Delta Devils, now on an unfortunate eight-game losing streak, had Jair Horton leading their effort with 11 points. Alvin Stredic Jr. chimed in with 10 points and secured six rebounds, while Donovan Sanders added eight points and recorded two steals.
