LONDON — Arsenal has announced that it is engaged in negotiations with Thomas Partey regarding the extension of his contract. The club made this disclosure on Wednesday while also confirming the exit of several other players, including Jorginho and Raheem Sterling. Partey’s current contract is set to expire on June 30, and Arsenal stated that “discussions are ongoing.” Partey, who hails from Ghana, has been a part of Arsenal’s squad since 2020.
The Gunners also mentioned other key departures. Italian midfielder Jorginho, Scottish left back Kieran Tierney, Brazilian goalkeeper Neto, and Raheem Sterling — who had been an integral player for England — are among the players leaving the club. Sterling’s time with Arsenal was on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
Recently, Arsenal concluded the Premier League season in second place. This marks the third consecutive season the team has secured this position in the league standings.
