In Hamburg, a serious accident occurred between a long-distance train and a large truck on Tuesday, resulting in injuries to 12 individuals, as reported by German news agency dpa.
Among the injured, one person was reported to be in critical condition and another sustained serious injuries, while ten others had minor injuries.
The ICE train carried over 250 passengers, all of whom emerged without serious harm. However, authorities arranged for buses to transport these passengers away from the site of the incident, according to local media outlets.
The crash took place at a level crossing in the Rönneburg district, where the train collided with the truck, which appeared to be loaded with sections of railway tracks. Debris from the load was scattered across the area of the crash.
Due to the accident, the rail line connecting Hamburg-Harburg to Maschen in Lower Saxony was temporarily shut down, resulting in other trains being rerouted to ensure passenger safety and restore service.
