Glenn contributes 17 points in Tulane’s 82-71 victory over Rice

HOUSTON — In a spirited match on Saturday, Tulane overcame Rice with a score of 82-71, propelled by a strong performance from Gregg Glenn III, who contributed 17 points to the Green Wave’s victory.

Glenn also secured six rebounds, helping his team improve to a record of 11-9 overall and 5-2 in the American Athletic Conference. Asher Woods supported him with 13 points, thanks to a shooting performance of 4 for 9 from the field and an impressive 5 for 6 from the free-throw line. Rowan Brumbaugh rounded out the scoring with 12 points, made from 4 of 10 shooting and converting 3 of 5 attempts from the free-throw line, though his three-point shooting was less successful at 1 for 4.

On the other side, Denver Anglin was the standout player for the Owls, notching 27 points. Caden Powell made his mark with a double-double, contributing 14 points along with 11 rebounds. Emory Lanier added to Rice’s efforts with 11 points as well.

In the initial half, Glenn managed to score 10 points, but Tulane found themselves trailing slightly at halftime with a score of 37-36. The second half saw a shift, where Tulane capitalized on a narrow lead, extending it to a 12-point cushion with a strong 12-3 run that brought the score to 61-49 with just over six minutes remaining in the game. Mari Jordan also emerged in the second half, scoring eight key points to boost Tulane’s victory.

Looking ahead, Tulane’s next challenge will be on Thursday as they take on Memphis at their home court, while Rice is set to play against South Florida on Tuesday.
