RALEIGH, N.C. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Jovan Blacksher Jr. led the California Golden Bears with 14 points as they narrowly defeated the N.C. State Wolfpack, finishing the game at 65-62. California maintained control for a large portion of the contest, with their performance cementing the win in the closing moments.

With just 1:20 remaining on the clock, Jayden Taylor managed to convert a spectacular three-point play that handed N.C. State a slim 62-61 lead, marking their first advantage since the first half. However, Blacksher Jr. quickly responded with a layup, restoring California’s edge. DJ Campbell then added two free throws for the Golden Bears with only 12 seconds left, solidifying their lead. N.C. State was unable to score again as Breon Pass missed a crucial three-pointer in the final seconds.

DJ Campbell made a significant contribution to California’s victory, finishing with 13 points. In addition to Blacksher Jr., Jeremiah Wilkinson also showcased an impressive game with 11 points, while both Andrej Stojakovic and Mady Sissoko chipped in with 10 points each.

On the other side, Taylor stood out for N.C. State with a game-high of 18 points. He was supported by Marcus Hill, who added 13 points, and Ben Middlebrooks contributing 10 points to the team’s tally.
