YPSILANTI, Mich. — Eastern Michigan University has confirmed that two of the men’s basketball games this season have been flagged for unusual betting activities, as reported by university officials on Saturday.
The games in question include a matchup against Central Michigan on Tuesday and another against Wright State that took place on December 21. This suspicious gambling activity was brought to light when Integrity Compliance 360, a betting firm, alerted its clients regarding the anomalies.
University spokesperson Greg Steiner noted that the administration became aware of these concerns on Wednesday. “Currently, we lack additional details about what might have caused the suspicious behavior in these games,” said Steiner. He added that the university is collaborating with the Mid-American Conference and will share more information as it becomes available.
Integrity Compliance 360 serves a wide array of clients, including sportsbooks, academic conferences, universities, and professional sports leagues. Reports indicate that a bettor attempted to place their largest wager to date on Central Michigan to cover the spread during the first half of their game against the Eagles.
Efforts to contact Integrity Compliance 360, the Mid-American Conference, and the Michigan Gaming Control Board for comments have yet to yield responses. Meanwhile, Eastern Michigan celebrated a victory against Bowling Green with a score of 68-62 on Saturday.
As the college basketball season progresses, more updates and alerts will be provided to keep fans informed on developments related to both the games and the ongoing investigations into the betting activities.
