FRESNO, Calif. — In an exciting overtime showdown on Saturday night, Nevada triumphed over Fresno State with a final score of 77-66. Nick Davidson was a standout performer, accumulating 20 points and securing 14 rebounds for the Wolf Pack, who improved their season record to 9-7 and 1-4 in the Mountain West Conference.
Joining Davidson in the scoring efforts was Kobe Sanders, who contributed 15 points while shooting 5 of 11 overall, including 2 of 7 from beyond the arc, alongside a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line and seven rebounds. Justin McBride also made his mark, finishing with 12 points after hitting 6 of 13 shots from the field.
On the other side of the court, the Bulldogs, now with a record of 4-13 and 0-6 in conference play, were led by David Douglas Jr., who netted 16 points. Alex Crawford supported his team with 13 points, four assists, and two blocks, while Zaon Collins chipped in 13 points along with four assists and three steals. Unfortunately for Fresno State, this loss extended their current losing streak to six games.
The game took an unexpected turn when Crawford sank a 3-pointer as time expired in regulation, leveling the score at 64 and sending the match into overtime.
In the initial half, Davidson helped maintain the momentum for Nevada, scoring nine points as they entered halftime down by just one point at 31-30. The second half saw the Wolf Pack marginally outscore the Bulldogs, and with both teams tied at 64 at the end of regulation, the game shifted to an extra period. Tre Coleman particularly shone in overtime, scoring all seven of his points during that phase and connecting on 2 of 4 attempts from the field, helping secure the victory for Nevada.
