Old Dominion secures a 71-60 win against Louisiana-Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. — In a Thursday night showdown, Old Dominion secured a solid 71-60 win against Louisiana-Lafayette, led by the standout performance of Sean Durugordon, who contributed 20 points to his team’s success.

Durugordon also recorded seven rebounds, playing a pivotal role in the Monarchs’ (7-9, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference) performance. Alongside him, Jaden Johnson added 13 points, shooting 50% from the field and an impressive 83% from the free-throw line. Johnson complemented his scoring with five rebounds and six assists, showcasing a well-rounded game. Robert Davis Jr. also made his mark with 13 points, though his shooting was inconsistent, going 4 for 13 overall and 2 for 9 from beyond the arc, but he made all three of his free-throw attempts.

For the Ragin’ Cajuns (4-12, 2-2), Jeremiah Evans emerged as the leading scorer, totaling 19 points along with two blocks. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil contributed significantly as well, finishing the game with 16 points and grabbing seven rebounds, highlighting the team’s effort despite the loss.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Saturday. Old Dominion will take on South Alabama on the road, while Louisiana-Lafayette will host UL Monroe at home.
