DALLAS – The anticipated face-off between basketball talents Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers will be postponed. Caitlin Clark, star for the Indiana Fever, has been sidelined due to a left groin injury, marking the second game in a row she will be absent. The Dallas Wings, having acquired Paige Bueckers as their first overall pick this year, were scheduled to host the Fever for a game on Friday evening at the venue of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

This game marks a unique occasion for the Wings, as it is their first home game played away from their usual location at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Clark had already missed the Fever’s recent encounter, a home game against the Los Angeles Sparks, which resulted in an 85-75 loss. Her recent groin injury is yet another setback for Clark this season, adding to her previous sidelining due to a quad injury. Prior to these setbacks, Clark had a spotless attendance record, never missing a game during her college career at Iowa and in the early stages with the Fever until the quad strain put her out for five matches.

As of the latest results, the Fever holds a record of 7 wins and 8 losses, while the Dallas Wings have gained momentum, winning three of their last four games following a challenging start of just one victory in their initial 12 games.

In her return following the quad injury, Clark showcased her skills by putting up 32 points, leading the Fever to a significant win against the New York Liberty, who were undefeated until that match on June 14. Clark’s current statistics boast an average of 18.2 points, 8.9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. Bueckers, meanwhile, has been maintaining figures of 17.7 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.6 rebounds. She herself has missed four games this season due to different health issues, including a concussion and an illness.
