RUSTON, La. — In a thrilling clash on Monday night, Louisiana Tech emerged victorious over Grand Canyon with a final score of 74-66, thanks largely to the stellar performance of Sean Newman Jr., who recorded 25 points in the game.
Newman was instrumental to the Bulldogs’ success, contributing not only in scoring but also with nine assists, leading his team to their impressive 10-2 record. Daniel Batcho played a significant role as well, totaling 19 points while shooting 8 for 11 from the field, including 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Amaree Abram completed the trio of top performers by scoring 15 points, hitting 6 of 10 attempts from the floor, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc.
The Antelopes, now sitting at 6-4, saw their scoring efforts led by JaKobe Coles, who netted 19 points, complemented by two steals and three blocks. Duke Brennan contributed 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Lok Wur added another 11 points to the team’s tally.
