CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — On Saturday night, Southern Illinois emerged victorious over Austin Peay, securing a 65-60 win, thanks in part to Ali Abdou Dibba’s impressive performance, where he scored 18 points.

Dibba also contributed five rebounds to the team’s efforts during the match, helping the Salukis improve their record to 5-6. Meanwhile, Jarrett Hensley added to the scoreboard with 13 points, shooting 4 of 12 overall, including a 1 for 4 performance from beyond the arc, while also going a perfect 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Kennard Davis chipped in with 12 points, going 3 for 7 from the field, which included 2 for 3 from three-point territory, and hitting 4 of 6 from the charity stripe.

For the Governors, who now stand at 4-6, Sai Witt stood out with a remarkable game, finishing with 25 points and securing 10 rebounds. Tekao Carpenter also contributed to the team’s tally with 12 points.

Southern Illinois entered halftime with a comfortable lead over Austin Peay, leading 36-25. Dibba was instrumental in the first half, scoring eight points, but he continued to drive the team’s performance in the second half, where he led with another 10 points. Although the Salukis were edged out by six points in the second half, they maintained enough of a lead to clinch the win.

Looking ahead, Southern Illinois will face High Point at home next Saturday, while Austin Peay plans to travel to Ohio for their upcoming matchup on Wednesday.
