SAN ANTONIO — In a Southland Conference showdown, Davion Bailey’s impressive performance propelled Incarnate Word to a 73-61 victory over Lamar on Monday night. Bailey showcased his shooting skills, scoring a total of 25 points for the Cardinals. His shooting accuracy was notable, as he made 8 out of 15 attempts from the field, including 6 of 10 from beyond the arc, and was perfect from the free-throw line with 3 of 3.
Jalin Anderson was a key contributor to the win, adding 14 points, securing five rebounds, and dishing out nine assists. Dylan Hayman also played a crucial role, scoring 12 points by going 5 of 13 from the field, and connected on 2 out of 5 attempts from three-point range, while also providing six assists to his teammates.
On the opposing side, Ja’Sean Jackson made a commendable effort for Lamar, leading the team with 16 points. Adam Hamilton contributed significantly as well, scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds. Andrew Holifield matched Hamilton’s nine points. Unfortunately for Lamar, the loss brought an end to the Cardinals’ five-game winning streak, damping their spirits after a previous successful run.
