NATCHITOCHES, La.
— In a decisive performance, Northwestern State emerged victorious over New Orleans with a score of 73-61 on Monday, thanks in large part to Addison Patterson’s impressive 17-point contribution.
Patterson also showcased his versatility on the court by securing 11 rebounds and recording three steals for the Demons, who now hold a record of 9-10 overall and 5-3 within the Southland Conference.

Noteworthy support came from Micah Thomas, who scored 10 points despite a shooting percentage of 33%, connecting on 2 of 6 attempts from the field, including 1 of 4 from beyond the three-point line. Additionally, he made 5 of 6 free throw attempts. Love Bettis also added to the scoreboard with 10 points, shooting 40% from the floor while hitting 4 of 10 shots, which included 1 of 3 from three-point territory.

On the other side, the Privateers struggled but saw standout performances from Jamond Vincent, who led the team with 24 points and claimed two steals. James White contributed significantly as well, scoring 19 points and also recording two steals. New Orleans currently stands at 4-15 overall, with a record of 2-6 in conference play.

Looking ahead, both teams have upcoming matches scheduled for Saturday. Northwestern State will travel to challenge Stephen F. Austin, while New Orleans will host Houston Christian at home.
