BRISTOL, Conn. — ESPN has officially extended its media rights agreement with the Premier Lacrosse League for another five seasons, the network confirmed on Wednesday.

The new agreement is set to commence next year and will encompass every game from the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), the Maybelline Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL), in addition to future drafts for both leagues. Since 2022, ESPN has been televising PLL games.

Alongside the renewed broadcasting rights, ESPN has also taken a minority equity interest in the PLL.

“This partnership represents a hugely significant milestone for both the PLL and WLL. ESPN’s renewed dedication, supplemented by their financial investment, highlights the promising future of lacrosse,” expressed Paul Rabil, PLL co-founder and President. “Our collaboration not only ensures that professional lacrosse reaches more fans more frequently, but it also sets a precedent for how modern sports leagues can evolve — focusing on equity, innovation, and accessibility.”

As of now, the PLL operates with eight teams and is in its seventh active season, while the WLL has just completed its inaugural year with four teams.

Both PLL and WLL matches will be available to stream via ESPN+, with select games being broadcast on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Premier Lacrosse League and broaden our dedication to the emerging sport by including the newly introduced Women’s Lacrosse League on ESPN. This renewal underscores our commitment to displaying top-tier lacrosse, promoting its growth across all levels, and providing fans year-long access to world-class competition,” stated Rosalyn Durant, Executive Vice President, ESPN Programming & Acquisitions.
