THIBODAUX, La. — In a competitive matchup on Saturday night, Nicholls State triumphed over Stephen F. Austin (SFA) with a final score of 73-61. Byron Ireland was instrumental in the victory, contributing 17 points to the Colonels’ effort.

Ireland showcased his shooting skills, hitting 7 of 10 attempts, which included an impressive 3 for 3 performance from three-point range. Alongside him, Robert Brown III added 16 points and recorded three steals, further solidifying the team’s defense. Jaylen Searles also made a notable contribution, scoring 11 points with a successful shooting rate of 4 for 9, including 3 for 4 from behind the arc.

For the visiting ‘Jacks, Chrishawn Christmas was the standout performer, tallying 12 points to go along with nine rebounds and two steals. Myles Jenkins matched his teammate’s scoring output with another 12 points, while Kyle Hayman chipped in 11 points to the team’s total.
