HAMILTON, N.Y. — On Saturday, Jeff Woodward played a crucial role in Colgate’s commanding victory over Boston University, contributing 18 points to the team’s total of 87-50.
Woodward also recorded five rebounds and dished out seven assists, showcasing his all-around skills for the Raiders, who improved their record to 6-11, with a 3-1 standing in the Patriot League. Besides Woodward, Parker Jones added 12 points, making four of his eight attempts from the floor, which included three successful shots from beyond the arc. Kyle Carlesimo also chipped in with 12 points, hitting five of eight field goals while securing two out of five three-pointers and contributing three steals.
On the other side, Michael McNair was the leading scorer for the Terriers, finishing the game with 12 points along with six rebounds. Malcolm Chimezie supported with 10 points and another six rebounds. Additionally, Azmar Abdullah ended his performance with six points and two steals for Boston University.
Colgate took control of the match early, seizing a lead with 16:51 remaining in the first half, and they never relinquished it. Chandler Baker was instrumental in this early surge, scoring 11 points in the first half and helping Colgate to establish a considerable 53-25 advantage at halftime. The Raiders continued to build on their lead in the second half, outscoring the Terriers by nine points in the final period, with Woodward leading the scoring charge by contributing ten points in this half alone.
Both teams are set to compete again on Wednesday, with Colgate traveling to face Navy while Boston University will host Lehigh.
