FORT WORTH, Texas—Noah Reynolds played a pivotal role in TCU’s dominant 82-48 win over Montana State, scoring 13 of his total 15 points from the free-throw line on Sunday. Despite struggling from the field with only one basket out of five attempts, Reynolds excelled at the charity stripe and contributed five assists, helping the Horned Frogs improve to a commendable 7-4 record, remaining undefeated at home with a 7-0 run.
Trazarien White also had a notable performance, hitting three 3-pointers and finishing the game with 13 points. Meanwhile, Vasean Allette added 11 points to the team’s efforts. The Bobcats were led by Max Agbonkpolo, who scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, though the team’s struggles on the road persisted, marking just one victory out of their eight away games this season.
TCU established a significant 42-25 lead by halftime, thanks in part to White’s back-to-back 3-pointers that sparked a 19-6 run to close the first half. Although the Horned Frogs’ shooting percentage stood at 37.5%, they excelled at the foul line, converting 12 of 14 attempts. On the other hand, Montana State shot 40% from the floor but managed just one successful free throw from two attempts.
The second half saw TCU extend its lead further, with Ernest Udeh Jr. scoring on a layup to push the advantage to 20 points just over three minutes in. Reynolds followed with two more free throws, which helped solidify TCU’s largest lead of 32 points at 69-37 with just over seven minutes remaining.
The Horned Frogs will now take a break before facing Arizona on December 30 in a Big 12 Conference showdown. Meanwhile, Montana State will hit the court again on January 2 for their Big Sky Conference opener against Idaho.
