Dosunmu and Giddey guide the Bulls to victory over the faltering Hornets 109-95

CHICAGO — Josh Giddey delivered an impressive performance with 17 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, leading the Chicago Bulls to a 109-95 victory over the struggling Charlotte Hornets on Friday evening.

Ayo Dosunmu contributed 19 points, helping Chicago recover from two consecutive losses, while Coby White added 18 points to the team’s total.

Both Giddey and Dosunmu showcased their shooting skills, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc each as the Bulls maintained control throughout the game. This victory signified the Hornets’ 13th loss in their last 16 matchups.

Brandon Miller was the standout for Charlotte, scoring 21 points, while Mark Williams contributed 15 points. Miles Bridges, returning from a 10-game absence due to a bruised right knee, added 14 points and secured nine rebounds.

The former Chicago player, Taj Gibson, received a warm ovation from fans as he entered the game with just under a minute left to play.

Injury Report:

The Hornets are slowly regaining their strength on the roster, but the absence of star guard LaMelo Ball continues to be felt. Ball, who is currently sidelined due to a strained left calf, has missed seven consecutive games, making his return a priority for the team.

Bulls Performance:

The Bulls exhibited an aggressive playing style, taking control early on and managing to fend off brief challenges from the Hornets throughout the match, resulting in a comfortable win.

Key Moments:

A particularly thrilling moment came from Bulls guard Lonzo Ball, who ignited the crowd just before halftime. In a display of athleticism, Ball chased down a loose ball and assisted Zach LaVine for an impressive alley-oop dunk. Following that, after Miller scored a jumper for Charlotte, Dosunmu replied with a layup. Bridges received a technical foul for an errant drive, allowing LaVine to make a free throw that increased the Bulls’ lead to 59-42 just before a travel call on LaVine gave Miller an opportunity to sink a floater at the halftime buzzer, reducing the Hornets’ deficit to 15 points.

Statistical Highlights:

The Bulls’ defense shone brightly, achieving a season-high with 11 blocked shots. Jalen Smith matched his personal best by rejecting five attempts while also contributing 11 points and securing 11 rebounds.

Looking Ahead:

The Hornets will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, while the Bulls will travel to Toronto on the same evening.
