Darius Burford was a standout for the Mavericks, contributing 13 points to the team’s success. Alongside his scoring, Burford also secured eight rebounds, helping his team improve to a 13-14 overall record and 6-7 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Brandyn Talbot supported the effort by scoring 12 points, making three of his eight attempts from the field, while going three of four from the free-throw line. Raysean Seamster added to the Mavericks’ tally with 11 points, shooting five for ten overall and landing one of three from three-point range. The collective efforts of the team were instrumental in clinching the victory.
On the opposing side, the Texans struggled despite notable performances. Freddy Hicks led Tarleton State with 14 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Teammate Chris Mpaka also made a significant contribution with 13 points and six rebounds, while Jordan Mizell chipped in with 10 points, dishing out four assists and securing three steals. With a record of 11-17 and 6-7 in conference play, the Texans will look to bounce back.
