SAN DIEGO — In a commanding performance on Saturday evening, UC San Diego triumphed over Cal State Northridge with a score of 79-54, driven by Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones, who racked up 32 points.
Tait-Jones delivered an impressive shooting performance, hitting 10 out of 14 attempts from the floor and converting 12 of 13 free throw opportunities, contributing significantly to the Tritons’ victory.
Tyler McGhie supported the team’s efforts with 19 points of his own, shooting 6 for 15 overall and sinking 5 out of 11 three-point attempts.
McGhie also made his mark on the defensive end, grabbing seven rebounds and accumulating five steals.
Justin Rochelin chipped in with eight points, demonstrating efficiency by connecting on 3 of 6 shots from the field, including 2 for 5 from long distance.

On the other side, Scotty Washington stood out for the Matadors, scoring 17 points as the team’s leading scorer.
His efforts were complemented by Marcus Adams Jr., who added 15 points.
