ATLANTA — In a thrilling matchup on Thursday night, Marshall triumphed over Georgia State with a final score of 92-79. Jalen Speer was instrumental in the victory, contributing 25 points and seven assists for the Thundering Herd, who improve their record to 12 wins and 9 losses, as well as 5 wins and 3 losses in the Sun Belt Conference.

Obinna Anochili-Killen also had a standout performance, scoring 23 points with an impressive shooting percentage of 9 for 16 from the field, along with a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. His performance didn’t stop there, as he also secured 10 rebounds and recorded nine blocks. Mikal Dawson contributed significantly as well, finishing with 17 points, including 4 for 7 from three-point range and 5 for 6 from the free-throw line, along with seven rebounds.

On the other side, Georgia State struggled against Marshall’s offensive might, with Cesare Edwards leading the Panthers. He put up 21 points alongside nine rebounds and two blocks. Toneari Lane was another key player for Georgia State, scoring 18 points, while Nicholas McMullen added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
