CLEVELAND – In an impressive display of skill, Tevin Smith netted 23 points to lead Cleveland State to a 65-50 victory over Detroit Mercy on Wednesday evening.

Smith’s performance also included six rebounds and three steals, helping the Vikings improve their record to 15-6 overall and 9-1 in the Horizon League. Je’Shawn Stevenson contributed significantly as well, scoring 13 points while shooting 4 of 9 from the field. Stevenson was successful in all four of his free-throw attempts but struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 1 of 4 attempts. Both Dylan Arnett and Tahj Staveskie added eight points each to bolster the team’s offensive efforts. This victory marked an impressive 11th consecutive win for Cleveland State.

On the opposing side, Orlando Lovejoy was the standout for the Titans, finishing the game with 14 points. Ryan Kalambay also had a notable performance, contributing 10 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
