MIAMI — Tyler Herro, the guard for the Miami Heat, will not participate in the upcoming game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday evening due to tightness in his groin.
Herro, who just celebrated his 25th birthday on Monday, is set to miss his first game of the current season. He has been leading the team with an impressive average of 24 points per game.
The organization indicated that Herro experienced tightness upon waking up on Tuesday morning. Initially, he was deemed questionable for the match, but his status was eventually changed to out roughly an hour before the game was set to begin.
Now in his fifth season in the NBA, Herro has taken on a more significant role on the offensive front, especially amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of star forward Jimmy Butler with the team. Butler has recently made his return following a seven-game suspension due to conduct that the Heat deemed detrimental to the team.
