HAMDEN, Conn. – In an exciting matchup on Thursday evening, Quinnipiac triumphed over Merrimack with an 81-76 scoreline, largely thanks to Paul Otieno’s impressive performance.
Otieno recorded a double-double, contributing 22 points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks, bolstering the Bobcats to a season record of 10 wins and 8 losses, with 6 victories in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Amarri Tice also had a notable night, scoring 21 points despite hitting only 7 of his 21 attempts from the floor, including a 1-for-4 mark from beyond the arc. He complemented his scoring with 11 rebounds. Jaden Zimmerman contributed 12 points, although he struggled with his shooting, going 5 for 13 overall, including just 1 for 6 from three-point range.
On the other side, Merrimack’s Adam Clark was a standout performer as well, finishing with 20 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and three steals. Matt Becht added 19 points to the Warriors’ efforts, while Bryan Etumnu chipped in with nine points and made a significant defensive impact with six blocks.
Looking ahead, both teams are set for their next games on Saturday; Quinnipiac will travel to face Mount St. Mary’s, while Merrimack will host Siena in what promises to be another competitive matchup.
