Jessamy’s performance was well-rounded as he also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded five blocks, showcasing his defensive prowess for the Tigers (6-11, 2-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference). Alongside him, Josh Ogundele made an impact by scoring 12 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting, while adding another eight rebounds to the team’s efforts.
For the Leathernecks (8-9, 2-4), Julius Rollins was the standout player, leading his team with 18 points and contributing two steals. Marko Maletic also played a crucial role by chipping in with 13 points, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure the win against Tennessee State.
Looking ahead, both teams are set to continue their campaigns on Thursday. Tennessee State will welcome SIU-Edwardsville to their home court, while Western Illinois will hit the road to take on Morehead State.
