Actor James Woods has reported that his residence in Pacific Palisades has managed to withstand the devastating wildfires that have ravaged a significant portion of his community.
On Friday, Woods shared via X, “A miracle has happened. We were able to reach our property, and the house that we had been told was gone forever is still standing.”
He went on to explain, “In this hellish landscape, ‘standing’ is relative, but the smoke and damage we have encountered do not compare to the complete destruction in the surrounding areas.”
Earlier in the week, Woods was one of the many residents in Los Angeles forced to evacuate their homes as the fires worsened. He has been providing frequent updates on his situation on X, illustrating the scorched remnants of nearby homes and initially believed that his own property would also be lost.
Following his fortunate news, Woods expressed his gratitude, stating, “So many beautiful messages from all of you. I’m so happy and grateful, but honestly, the entire area looks like the dark side of the moon.”
Numerous other celebrities, including Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal, have also revealed that their homes either suffered damage or were completely destroyed in the ongoing fires around Los Angeles. The crisis has resulted in at least ten fatalities, with thousands of buildings and vehicles reported to have been ruined.
