LOS ANGELES — In response to the recent catastrophic wildfires affecting the region, various sports organizations in Los Angeles are coming together to unveil an “LA Strong” custom logo and apparel line. This initiative is aimed at generating funds for organizations that are providing assistance to those affected by the fires.
On Friday, Fanatics revealed that T-shirts adorned with the new logo will soon be available for purchase through the online stores of different teams and leagues, as well as on the Fanatics website. This collaborative effort involves eight renowned sports leagues, the University of Southern California, and the organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
All profits generated from this campaign will be directed to support the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Alongside the T-shirts, LA Strong hoodies are expected to be released in the following weeks.
Fanatics founder Michael Rubin expressed his sorrow over the ongoing situation, describing the events as “absolutely gut-wrenching.” He emphasized the responsibility of using their platform to help those in need, stating how he feels heartbroken seeing the devastation affecting so many lives in Los Angeles.
Rubin further stated, “We are proud to have partnered with the LA sports community to launch a new ‘LA Strong’ merchandise collection.”
The wildfires, driven by strong winds, have swept through various neighborhoods in Los Angeles, leading to considerable destruction of property and forcing tens of thousands of residents to evacuate as the fires remained uncontrolled as of Wednesday.
This initiative brings together a wide array of professional teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Rams, Chargers, Clippers, Sparks, Angels, Kings, Football Club, Galaxy, Golf Club (TGL), Angel City FC, and the Anaheim Ducks.
The participating leagues encompass a range of sports, including the National Football League, National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, Women’s National Basketball Association, National Women’s Soccer League, and TMRW Golf League.
