WEST POINT, N.Y. — Jalen Rucker’s impressive performance with 27 points played a significant role in Army’s narrow 78-75 victory over UTSA on Sunday evening.
Rucker contributed six rebounds to the team’s effort, while Ryan Curry added a solid 15 points, hitting 4 of 9 field goals, including three from beyond the arc, plus converting 4 out of 5 free throws. Curry also distributed five assists, contributing to the team’s offensive success. Additionally, AJ Allenspach was efficient, making all four of his field goal attempts and finishing with 12 points, along with eight rebounds.
On the other side, the Roadrunners (6-6) were led by Amir “Primo” Spears, who delivered a strong performance with 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Tai’Reon Joseph supported the team with 16 points and made two steals, while Raekwon Horton added 15 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, showcasing a balanced attack for UTSA.
At halftime, Army held a slim lead over UTSA, up 39-35, with Rucker contributing 11 points in the first half. The second half saw Rucker step up with an additional 16 points down the stretch, helping to secure the victory for Army as they maintained their lead despite UTSA’s efforts to close the gap.
