On Saturday, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck various regions in Costa Rica, though initial reports indicate that it did not result in any significant damage.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicenter was located off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, approximately 40 miles (65 kilometers) northwest of the coastal town of Tamarindo. The seismic event was close to the Nicaraguan border, which also reported feeling the tremors. The earthquake occurred at a depth of around 12 miles (18 kilometers), which may have mitigated its impact.

While earthquakes of this magnitude can typically lead to serious consequences, the resilience of structures in the affected areas, along with the depth at which it occurred, likely played a significant role in preventing major damage. Local authorities are monitoring the situation and have not reported any injuries or critical issues resulting from the quake.
